Zebra Purse Wedding and 50th Birthday Cake
This cake was created for a surprise 50th Birthday Party. The cakes drums were covered in fondant and adorned with "free-lance" zebra stripes. The two-tiered squares cakes were different flavors as well as different flavored buttercream icing. The poppies were made from gumpaste and then brushed with Rose Pink Luster Dust.
Finally, the purse was made from my home-made recipe for rice krispy treats. After stacking to the height needed, I started sculpting the "purse" from a picture that was brought to me. After being satisfied with the shape, it was iced in buttercream and then draped with vanilla fondant. Chocolate fudge fondant with just a hint of black was used for the stipes. The handles were made from gumpaste and brushed with Rose Pink luster dust.
